It does not matter what access you have for table editing (S_TABU_DIS). Just use the command &SAP_EDIT in the command field in SAP and off you go: you can edit table content directly. This works if you have debug with changes access for object S_DEVELOP, but S_TABU_DIS is ignored as well as the system settings regarding changes. You have setup a procedure where contractors / temporary workers are limited to x number of days to make sure that these users won’t be active for ever. The downside of this procedure is, that someone needs to keep track on these user-ID’s before they expire so that access can be extended ahead of time to make sure users are not impacted.

Best case scenario would be that the acess to SAP is in synch with the network ID and communication is setup so that everyone is informed in a timely manner about the upcoming expiration. continue reading…

You are working as a SAP Security Admin and there they go again! Users call you up and demand to give them access so that they can change layout sets in transaction VA05.  The users are screaming: Give me SAP_ALL, Give me everything! I cannot work! The option to save layout is grayed out!

Well, first thought is, that you would not allow them to change global layouts (S_ALV_LAYO), but that may not be the case.
